The Sixth Grade Charter Academy
Mission: To successfully engage students in a dynamic, rigorous and challenging 21st century learning experience with access to a comprehensive junior high school elective program.
The charter school has fifty-five applicants and has received official approval to proceed.
Congratulations on being part of our new school! I will be contacting you soon to schedule a time for your child to meet with the teachers and to be assessed for mathematics and English literacy. The test results will provide our teachers with information to assist them in planning curriculum strategies and will not used to exclude anybody.
We are in a planning mode at the district level to coordinate our efforts to build the best school program possible. To that end we are working closely with our technology department to select our student computers and classroom systems. Curriculum consultants will be working with our two teachers and clerical and support staff is being hired. It is all very exciting to work with such talented people!
I want to invite you to attend the PJHS Open House on Wednesday, May 11th to give you and your child another opportunity to get familiar with the campus. The PTSA will host a BBQ that will be served from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. All classrooms will be open for touring at 6:30 p.m. and both 6th grade Academy teachers, Danny Bever and Danna Rocca will be in room E-2 to meet and greet students.
