registration materials due this Friday

Please make every attempt to turn in your registration materiasl to the PJHS head office by this Friday. The elective class  information is important  for us in the creation of the master schedule.  Thanks again to all those who came in last week for the assements in math and Eglish, If you were unable to make it,  know that we will  schedule another date. We want of have base preliminary info on student abiltiy before classes start.   We are ordering our Ipad2 and examining  options for the  interactive  smart boards for the classrooms. We will be spending  a lot of time this June training and getting the classrooms ready for the fall; an exciting time! Gracias por haber asistido las pruebas

Gracias a los cincuenta y cinco familias que llevaban a sus hijos a PJHS el pasado miércoles para participar en las matemáticas y las evaluaciones de Inglés. Los estudiantes pasaron aproximadamente 40 minutos en cada una de las dos sesiones. Los resultados de estas evaluaciones será proporcionar a nuestros dos maestros con información de línea base en las ideas de competencia y la planificación. Una vez más, y me aseguró a los estudiantes, estas evaluaciones no tienen la intención de ser un examen de ingreso más bien una opporutity que nos proporcione alguna información. Si usted no pudo asistir a las evaluaciones por favor me dan una llamada y vamos a establecer otra fecha. Hemos tomado la decisión de compra Ipad2 para los estudiantes y la organización de la capacitación en servicio para nuestros maestros. Una vez más, gracias por ser tan rápida de las evaluaciones. Assessment runs smoothly

Thank you to the fifty five families that brought their children to PJHS last Wednesday to participate in the math and English assessments. The students spent approximately  40 minutes in each of two sessions. The results of these assessments will provide our two teachers with some base line information on proficiency and planning ideas. Once again, and I reassured students, these assessments are not intended to be an entrance exam rather an opporutity to provide us some information.  If you were unable to attend the assessments please give me a call and we will set up another date. We have made the decision to purchase Ipad2 for the students and are arranging in-service training for our teachers. Once again, thanks for being so prompt for the assessments. Have a great weekend! Casa Abierta

Gracias a todos ustedes que llegaron a nuestra Casa Abierta pasado Miércoles, 11.05 / y llegó a conocer, o conocer una vez más, Danna Rocca y Danny Bever,nuestros dos profesores de sexto grado. Fue un gran cambio a cabo y la atmósfera estaba cargada ciertamente con energía positiva. Seguimos para reunirse yplanificar, hoy nos reunimos con nuestros PE consultor para crear el alcance y la secuencia de actividades para el semestre de otoño. Por favor, no foget que estemiércoles a las 3:30-17:00 a PJHS estamos llevando a cabo nuestras evaluaciones de matemáticas y Inglés. Venga a la oficina principal y vamos a dirigir a los estudiantes ya sea a la sala de ordenadores o un salón de clases donde secompletará la evaluación cuarenta y dos minutos. Llame si tiene alguna pregunta o correo electrónico. Gracias Juan

Open House meet and greet

Thanks to all of you who made it to our Open House last Wednesday, 5/11/ and got to meet, or meet once again, Danna Rocca and Danny Bever, our two 6th grade teachers.  It was a great turn out and the atmosphere was certainly charged with positive energy. We are continuing to meet and plan, today we met with our P.E. consultant to create the scope and sequence of activities for the fall semester. Please don't foget that this Wednesday at 3:30-5:00 pm at PJHS we are conducting our math and English assessments. Come to the main office and we will direct students to either the computer lab or a classroom where they will complete two forty minute assessments. Call with any questions or email. Thanks John

Open Houe

 I hope you all recieved the latest letter I sent last Friday announcing the Open House and the math and English assessments scheduled for Wednesday the 18th of May here at PJHS from 3:30-5:00. Just come by the office and we will get things started. Students just need to bring a pencil and a few pieces of scratch paper for the math section. The reading assessment will be conducted in the computer lab and nothing else will be needed. Once again, hope to see you tomorrow, Wednesday for the Open House. The BBQ costs 6.00 per person from 5:00-6:30 and the classrooms will be open from 6:30-8:00 pm. Academy teachers Danna Rocca and Danny Bever will be on hand in room E-2 to meet and greet. Math and English assessments coming up!

We are continuing to grow with 60 students signed up as of today, Friday 5/6
I will be sending another letter home to all students informing them of the assessments that we have scheduled for Wednesday, May 18, from 3:30-5:00 here at PJHS, 700 Bantam Way, Petaluma 94952. Report to the office and you will be sent to one of two rooms, either the computer lab for the reading portion or to E-3 for the math portion. I want to stress, once again, that this is for our teachers to gain insights on the proficiency levels of their students and not to exclude anyone from the program. Please let me know if there is a conflict with the your schedule and we will look at make-up dates. I appreciate the response that many of you have given me along with your emails addresses. Open House, Wednesday May 11

A week from tomorrow, Wednesday, May 11 will be our annual Open House. We generally have a big turn out but not to worry we open the lower blacktop for ample parking. Although the focus is on the junior high we will have our two 6th grade teachers, Danny Bever and Danna Rocca present in E-2, closest to the office, to meet and greet students and parents. They will be present from 6:30 to 8:00 but please consider coming earlier to enjoy the BBQ and student entertainment. It is always a good idea to get yourself familiar with the site to make the new students more confident with their new school.  I am putting together a group email and I appreciate your sending me a note online so I can capture your email address.
