summer up date

I am writing on what is the longest day of the year and no doubt the hottest! On Monday our two teachers, district curriucum, I and tech support staff attended an inservice at Bel Aire School in Tiburon on Ipad applications. This three hour training provided us with access to over one hundred applications to review for our curricular areas. Quite impressive and a good school district to partner with for the future.  Today we met with Rick Phelan, SCOE technolgoy consultant, to further review the Ipad with our district support staff.  Additionally, the two classrooms are being readied for the installation of the Smart interactive boards that will be in place in early July. Thanks to all of you for completing the registration materials and the initial assessments in math and reading. This information is being compiled for teacher review and lesson planning. The two teachers have and are continuing to meet with their 6th grade counterparts in the district to review the scope and sequence of  their core areas.  They are planning together to find thematic links to intergrate and make their lessons more relevant and interactive. I am having fun manipulating the new Ipads as well and look forward to the begining of school when we will be inviting all parents to an evening meeting to go over the use and care of the technology the children will be using. I will keep in touch during the summer and don't hesitate to contact me at jlehmann@pet.k12.ca.us   Enjoy the good weather!
